How To Take Care of Your New or Old Dentures?
Do Dentures Make It Hard to Eat?
Whilst all dentures are marvels of modern-day engineering and design, they are artificial nonetheless and do require some time to get used to, at first. When you are just starting out with your new set of dentures, we highly recommend that you start with softer foods that don’t require heavy chewing. It’s always a good idea to let your knife and fork do most of the chewing for you, by slicing your food into small pieces. Once you are confident eating with your new dentures, you’ll be able to steadily resume your regular eating habits.
Is Denture Glue Necessary?
Denture adhesives provide the added assurance that your new teeth won’t slip about during the day. Whilst denture glue can provide extra support, they should never be used to fasten poorly-aligned dentures. If your dental prosthetics don’t feel sturdy and secure or cause pain and discomfort, we strongly advise that you contact us as soon as possible so that we can examine them for you.
Is It Safe to Use Denture Glue?
Denture glue is completely harmless when used responsibly. The only time denture adhesives can cause problems is when it is applied far too liberally to poorly-aligned dentures, which can damage gum tissue and other areas of the wearer’s mouth.
Is It Safe to Make Alterations to Your Dentures?
Dentures are precision made and even the slightest tweak or alteration could damage or even ruin them. Furthermore, dentures that have undergone ‘DIY modifications’ could also damage your gums. Do we visit nursing homes?
We are quite a central Gold Coast Denture Clinic. Located in Varsity Lakes we are close to a lot of the popular nursing homes, we will mostly visit homes located in: Robina, Robina Hinterland, Robina CBD,Varsity Lakes and Varsity CBD. We do however occasionally visit other homes under special consideration.
